Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga moves rapidly, flowing from one pose to the next with each vinyasa(series of poses linked by the breath). Ashtange yoga is a specific system of sequential poses means the primary, intermediate or advanced series.

You begin with the traditional mantra to begin every series. Next you do the Sun Salutation A and B sequence of poses where you will establish the rhythm of your breathing and concentration. You flow from the Sun Salutation sequences into the Fundamental Positions. Lastly you flow from the Fundamental Positions into the Finishing Sequence where you will calm down your breathing, muscle contractions become subtle and you turn your concentration inward.

Final Thoughts

For a Lazy Girl this is to damn complicated! Obviously as a beginner I could do even half of the poses. Ashtanga Yoga is definitely for Type A personalities that are driven and intense people. Definitely not for this Lazy Girl.
